Vertical blinds can dress sliding glass doors, patio doors or large picture windows. You can choose how your vertical blinds will stack – to the left, right or parting down the middle. Stack placement allows you to customize your vertical blind placement and still keep your outside view.

Vertical blinds have a guided track system and wider slats, so they require more mounting depth than most blinds. Always check the minimum depth requirements for your vertical blinds before purchasing.

These window treatments offer some light blocking and privacy, but it won't be as complete as other window treatments. Consider a different option if privacy and light control are your top priorities.

How to measure 

Inside mount vertical blinds are installed inside the window frame or casing – they provide a sleek, clean look which can showcase your window size and moldings. If you’re interested in measuring for inside mount vertical blinds, follow these steps:

Measure the depth of your window frame, from the front of the opening to the glass. You’ll need this measurement to ensure your window recess meets the minimum depth requirement for an inside mount. Refer to the Mounting Requirements section for the window treatment you’ve chosen to ensure your window meets the requirement for an inside mount. If you have a door handle, make sure there is depth in front for mounting.

Measure the width of your window opening. Record only the width measurement at the top of your window opening for vertical blinds.

Measure the height of your window opening in three places: left, center, and right. Circle the shortest measurement - this is the number you submit for your window’s height.

Order at the exact opening size with no deductions. The factory will take deductions in production.

Double check that your measurements follow the width by height format (W x H).  How to Install Inside Mount Vertical Blinds

Installation

Position your valance so it is facing the room and aligned with the window edge, and set your bracket clips 3 inches in from the left and right edges.

Use your bracket clips as templates to mark starter holes for the screws. To make it easier to fasten your screws through the valance, create starter holes by tapping a screw with a hammer or using a drill bit where your mounting screws will be inserted.

Mark where your screws will go by lightly tapping starter holes through the top slot of the bracket. Fasten the supplied screws through the valance and into the mounting surface for each bracket.

Hook the front of your head rail into the brackets and rotate back until it snaps into place.

To install the vanes or louvers, start by pulling the cord so that the vane stems are evenly spaced. Pull the cord to rotate the openings of the stems so they are facing you.

Attach the first vane or louver by gently sliding it up into the plastic stem until it snaps into place. Repeat this process until all vanes are attached.

Install your safety bracket to keep the cord or chain taut. Place the bracket near the outside bottom of the window frame where it will not interfere with the operation of your vertical blinds.

Test your vertical blinds by pulling down on the cord to open or close and blinds. Pull the beaded chain to rotate your blinds.
